【摘要】:Thesetestmethodsforthechemicalanalysisofmetalsandalloysareprimarilyintendedasrefereemethodstotestsuchmaterialsforcompliancewithcompositionalspecifications,particularlythoseunderthejurisdictionofASTMCommitteesA01onSteel,StainlessSteel,andRelatedAlloysandA04onIronCastings.Itisassumedthatallwhousethesetestmethodswillbetrainedanalystscapableofperformingcommonlaboratoryproceduresskillfullyandsafely.ItisexpectedthatworkwillbeperformedinaproperlyequippedlaboratoryunderappropriatequalitycontrolpracticessuchasthosedescribedinGuideE882.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthechemicalanalysisofcarbonsteels,low-alloysteels,siliconelectricalsteels,ingotiron,andwroughtironhavingchemicalcompositionswithinthefollowinglimits:1.3TestmethodsforthedeterminationofseveralelementsnotincludedinthisstandardcanbefoundinTestMethodsE30andTestMethodsE1019.1.4Someoftheconcentrationrangesgiveninaretoobroadtobecoveredbyasingletestmethodandthereforethisstandardcontainsmultipletestmethodsforsomeelements.TheusermustselectthepropertestmethodbymatchingtheinformationgivenintheScopeandInterferencesectionsofeachtestmethodwiththecompositionofthealloytobeanalyzed.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Insomecases,exceptionsallowedinIEEE/ASTMSI10arealsoused.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecifichazardsstatementsaregiveninSectionandinspecial"Warning"paragraphsthroughoutthesetestmethods.1.6Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofmanganeseinconcentrationsfrom0.01to2.5%.1.7Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofphosphorusinconcentrationsfrom0.003to0.09%.1.8Theupperlimitofthescopehasbeensetat0.09%becausesufficientnumbersoftestmaterialscontaininghigherphosphoruscontentswereunavailablefortestinginaccordancewithPracticeE173.However,recognizingthatthechemicalprinciplesusedinthistestmethodarecapableofhandlinghigherconcentrations,thetestmethodincludesacalibrationprocedureupto0.25%.Usersofthistestmethodarecautionedthatitsuseabove0.09%isnotsupportedbyinterlaboratorytesting.
