【摘要】:Theabilityofaplasticmaterialtoresistdeteriorationofitselectrical,mechanical,andopticalpropertiescausedbyexposuretolight,heat,andwatercanbeverysignificantformanyapplications.Thispracticeisintendedtoinducepropertychangesassociatedwithend-useconditions,includingtheeffectsofdaylight,moisture,andheat.Theexposureusedinthispracticeisnotintendedtosimulatethedeteriorationcausedbylocalizedweatherphenomena,suchas,atmosphericpollution,biologicalattack,andsaltwaterexposure.Cautionx2014;Variationsinresultsmaybeexpectedwhenoperatingconditionsarevariedwithintheacceptedlimitsofthispractice.Therefore,allreferencestotheuseofthispracticemustbeaccompaniedbyareportpreparedinaccordancewithSection9thatdescribesthespecificoperatingconditionsused.RefertoPracticeG151fordetailedinformationonthecaveatsapplicabletouseofresultsobtainedinaccordancewiththispractice.Note38212;Additionalinformationonsourcesofvariabilityandonstrategiesforaddressingvariabilityinthedesign,execution,anddataanalysisoflaboratory-acceleratedexposuretestsisfoundinGuideG141.Reproducibilityoftestresultsbetweenlaboratorieshasbeenshowntobegoodwhenthestabilityofmaterialsisevaluatedintermsofperformancerankingcomparedtoothermaterialsortoacontrol.,Therefore,exposureofasimilarmaterialofknownperformance(acontrol)atthesametimeasthetestmaterialsisstronglyrecommended.Itisrecommendedthatatleastthreereplicatesofeachmaterialbeexposedtoallowforstatisticalevaluationofresults.TestresultswilldependuponthecarethatistakentooperatetheequipmentinaccordancewithPracticeG155.Significantfactorsincluderegulationoflinevoltage,freedomfromsaltsorotherdepositsfromwater,temperatureandhumiditycontrol,andconditionandageoftheburnerandfilters.1.1Thispracticecoversspecificproceduresandtestconditionsthatareapplicableforxenon-arcexposureofplasticsconductedinaccordancewithPracticesG151andG155.Thispracticealsocoversthepreparationoftestspecimens,thetestconditionsbestsuitedforplastics,andtheevaluationoftestresults.Note18212;Previousversionsofthispracticereferencedxenon-arcdevicesdescribedinPracticeG26,whichdescribedveryspecificequipmentdesigns.PracticeG26isbeingreplacedbyPracticeG151,whichdescribesperformancecriteriaforallexposuredevicesthatuselaboratorylightsourcesandbyPracticeG155,whichgivesrequirementsforexposingnonmetallicmaterialsinxenon-arcdevices.PracticeG26willbeballotedforwithdrawalbeforeDecember2000.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note28212;ThispracticeistechnicallyequivalenttoISO4892-2.
