【摘要】:Withtheneedtocalculatefreeformaldehydelevelsinemulsionpolymers,itisnecessarytomakethedeterminationwithoutupsettinganyequilibriathatmightgenerateordepleteformaldehyde.Thistestmethodprovidesameansfordeterminingppmlevelsoffreeformaldehydeinemulsionpolymerswithoutupsettingexistingequilibria.1.1Thistestmethodisusedforthedeterminationoffreeformaldehyde(HCHO)inemulsionpolymerswithoutupsettingexistingformaldehydeequilibria.Theprocedurehasbeenevaluatedusingacrylic,acrylonitrile-butadiene,carboxylatedstyrene-butadieneandpolyvinylacetateemulsionpolymers.Thistestmethodmayalsobeapplicableforemulsionpolymersofothercompositions.Theestablishedworkingrangeofthistestmethodisfrom0.05to15ppmformaldehyde.Emulsionpolymersmustbedilutedtomeettheworkingrange.1.2Thistestmethodminimizeschangesinfreeformaldehydeconcentrationthatcanresultfromchangesinthephysicalorchemicalpropertiesofanemulsionpolymer.1.3Therearenoknownlimitationstothistestmethodwhenusedinthemannerdescribed.TheemulsionpolymertestspecimenmustbepreparedwithadiluentthathasapHsimilartothatoftheemulsion.UseofaninappropriatepHmayupsetformaldehydeequilibriaandresultinincorrectformaldehydelevels.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
